How Made-to-Order Works (and Why Your Order Takes a Week)
When you order from Dollar Hustle, nothing gets pulled off a shelf. Here's exactly what happens between clicking "Buy" and the package landing on your porch.
Step 1: You order
You pick the design, the size and the color. At that moment the item doesn't exist yet. Your order goes straight to our production partner with your exact specs.
Step 2: It gets made (2–7 business days)
Hats are embroidered: the design is stitched into the front panel by machine, which is why it holds up to years of sun and sweat. Tees, tanks and hoodies are direct-to-garment printed, with ink cured into the fabric so it moves and washes with the shirt. All-over-print items like towels, duffles and fanny packs are sublimated, where the dye becomes part of the fabric instead of sitting on top of it. Hats and apparel are usually done in 2–4 days; all-over-print items take closer to the full week.
Step 3: It ships (3–5 business days)
Once it's made, it's packed and handed to the carrier, and you get a tracking link by email. Standard U.S. shipping is free on every order. If you ordered a few different things, they may arrive in separate packages a day or two apart, because different products are made at different facilities.
So how long is it, really?
Plan on 1–2 weeks from order to doorstep for most U.S. orders. It runs longer in November and December.
Why do it this way?
Three reasons. First, no waste: we never print 500 of something and hope. Second, more choice: we can offer every size and color of a design without stocking every size and color. Third, it keeps us small and independent, which is the only way a one-person brand competes with the big guys.
What about returns?
Because each item is made for you, we can't take returns for size or color changes, so check the size guide before you order and go up if you're between sizes.
